Skate love
The rink at JCUBE has two types of penguins - there are the $10/2hr ones they rent out to kids, and then there are the human ones. These human penguins stand in flocks; they all have the same feet (rental skates), and they hardly move, and when they do, they roam around in clusters. They don't glide forth. They walk on the ice in their skates. They wobble, and they skate gingerly. I've no idea how they don't fall. OR they scratch the ice. Should I count myself lucky that Mr. Chen has taught me how to skate? I guess I should. Also, back in primary school, I used to be terrified by the hugeass blisters that my friends would sustain while ice-skating. Today, I discovered that this was because their laces weren't tight enough. It also hit me that I've never gotten blisters before, because Mr. Chen has been diligently tightening my laces since Day One :)
Thank YOU Mr. Chen ;)
Our original plan was to go inline-skating because we'd gone ice-skating last week. However, the heat was just KILLER - after playing tennis in the Saturday morning heat, it was really just a challenge to even clothe myself. It was that hot. Hence we wound up on the ice again.
After which, we journeyed all the way back up North for some good Laksa, only to find that they were closed. After some half-decent food at NorthPoint, we headed back to ChezChen for a cozy evening with Django, which lasted too long - and hence the pic above - that's the bit of the KJE that leads to the PIE corporation road exit. Empty at 1AM :3
