Moving
In case you haven't heard, we're moving. After a decade and a half in this lovely home, my parents, effective "empty-nesters" have decided that they'd rather have a smaller, cozier nest that will be easier to maintain. After all, there are usually just 4 people at home at any one time now. Just half of when we were at full strength - 8 of us. The silence can sometimes be quite loud.
The new nest will be in a more central location, have larger rooms for all of us, but a smaller living area, and thinner walls. Also, it will be on high enough a floor so that we won't have to deal with that many creepy crawlies. So.. yay! Guess it's more suitable for a family comprised entirely of adults :p
For now though, my weekends have been consumed by frenzied packing - a task made exponentially more difficult when you realize you're dumping memories. One is forced to measure the value of a memory against the space that it will take at the new place. The letters are easy, but the yellowing ticket stubs from past experiences less so.
