Lazy Streets so Undemanding

My arse. It was one of the most congested areas in LA. We visited Santa Monica after waking early to follow Wil to USC. Apparently he had to register with the school within less than 10 days of his arrival stateside.
Makes me wonder what would've happened if Nic and Ching Tse had had to do the same.

Anyhow, before I begin, I'd like to affirm that this is a PHOTO blog, not one that's about my experiences in full :b That's why I'm filtering out the ugly photos.

En route to the bus station

So after a terribly boring day at USC and eating their unpalatable food, we finally made our way to Santa Monica! I loved Santa Monica :D Then again, I love most beach towns. I'm a.... beach bunny. Or... bitch bunny. Bitchy bunny. Ok Mel, stop rolling your eyes now. This post is dedicated to you! ♥

Fred Segal was a little disappointing because it felt like a glorified Haji Lane, but the rest of the shops at Santa Monica were good! Too bad I was in the mood for luxury.

We took public transport there, and it was just dodgy. In LA, everybody who's anybody drives. Only strange creatures take the public transport. I kid you not. The people there are just..alien.

Clearly I wasn't taking very well to the West Coast.....

Anyhow, the boys took to the beach first (the females were deterred by the sudden availability of big and previously inaccessible brands), and chanced upon this busker! The busker was good and very happy. He sang about booty, and I don't know what else. Personally, I couldn't have cared less, but the boys were absolutely fascinated! Apparently he was really talented. Erm.. ok. But they sat there for so long, I decided to snap a photo of him. If you're interested, ask Nicky for the video.

Give him some bootyyy

I was more interested in the showdown between Batman and Spidey! :D

Fun Fact: Bats eat Spiders.

Santa Monica Beach was filled with unemployed people like these. Garbed in halloween costumes and expecting to get paid by tourists just for a photo with them. SERIOUSLY GUYS, people had to WORK to get there. Did you think they were going to be stupid enough to pay you for a picture they could get for free at Halloween parties?

The answer to that, of course, was a RESOUNDING YES. They got paid pretty well.

Anyhow, it looked sunny didn't it! Almost as sunny as Ching Tse (down there).

讨厌!

Too bad we were experiencing the end of summer, and when the sun went down, it took the warmth away with it. We robust young people were quickly reduced to shivering weaklings.

Case in Point.

But Santa Monica Pier was so much more than that! There was a fair of sorts complete with Bubba Gump Shrimp Factory and amusement park rides. Not posting photos of those though... because I didn't think they looked very authentic :b More like a touristy attempt at something. Go flickr them if you want! Instead, I hope you've enjoyed (and will continue to enjoy) the people I traveled with. Hopefully they find my photos of them flattering, or at the very least, expressive.

So we ended up going for a dinner at what.Chilli's or TGIF's? Some place with buxom girls who chose to speak specially with Nicky. Boy's got the charm, I suppose? That meal was the beginning of many fatty, unhealthy ones, which would soon have us all diving for the salad at every meal....in a bid to even out the evils of transfat and other disgusting, artery-clogging materials synonymous with American fast food.

Oh right and remember what I said about public transport? Well the bus service was as rare as it was unpopular. We missed one, and had to wait almost an hour for the next! Thank LA's art community for galleries :) Found one which was closing down. There was some sort of recital going on in there. For a gallery filled with crazy scribblings done using black paint, the people in there took themselves very seriously.

But I liked some of the scribblings :) Here's a snapshot for you!

Have you taken your daily bath?

CONSTANT VIGILANCE!

Something you should always practice on LA's public transport.
Learn from Nicky don't learn from me.

!Judgyjudgy.
I was looking all fashionable and stuff.... and then the sun began to set. And I began to shiver.
Till next weekend folks! :D Or whenever I decide to unearth my photos.
