Big Leap Forward
Oops! Haven't been updating as much as I should. I know I promised a new post every weekend or something. BUT SOMETIMES, I JUST GET BORED.

Visited Flor Patisserie with it, but that's a story for another time.
I've been meaning to credit Mr. C for abit, since he had little choice but to be my model. So here are my favourite shots of him. Take this as a hint of things to come, because these were snapped in...different places. Haha.

Live to Ride

Squinting in the bright light of day.
No head-on shot because Mafia members don't have time to stop.
Helloween 2010

MOMA

Snapped patronizing a hawker in Chinatown, NYC.

Preparing his Qi...or something(Boston)

Catching birds for dinner(Boston)

"The one in my vault is much larger"(Canadian Mint)

Ok please don't kill me for posting all these photos of you!(Credits to Amanda for this photo)
Yes his jacket was instrumental in perpetuating that badboy look.
This is more than just some adoring girlfriend post. I love these photos because they were mostly candid (2 weren't), and quite telling of who (i think) he is.
I'm posting them because I don't think I've ever been so satisfied with my product :P
It takes alot of communication and analysis with people to bring out the side of them that you want to portray. Snapping that desired candid shot also requires anticipation. In essence, you need to TALK to people and then dissect what they're saying and then make judgment. Quickly, or you lose the moment. To be good at this, you need to be interested in the person.
Plus. I have a new baby now. Been playing with it.

Mr C's really fun to photograph because there's this... slightly mafia-like quality to him. I derive equal joy from celebrating that quality, as well as challenging that notion with smiley photos of him. (I sound so..formal. Academic Writing has...impacted me)

Most of the time, I couldn't care less, but here at last, is someone I've come to know. Someone I'm interested in....and have learnt to photograph :p FINALLY, there's no disparity between what one had in mind, and the resulting photos.
Therefore, I am highly satisfied with how these shots turned out. Haha I like how good he looks, and well I guess if you know him well enough, we could discuss the nuances in his facial expressions and what they suggest. I like how there's enough in the photo to please the casual browser, and more than enough to intrigue people who know him. It's like a good book!
^^ ENJOY :D
That said, I understand that I have much more to learn when it comes to photography, and will continue trawling blogs and photography forums. I have not grown complacent :p
